The Objective of Texas Holdem Poker is to earn money by Winning the Pot which contains bets made by various players. To win at Poker, you either bluff your opponents or hold the best
hand at the end (aka the “showdown”). In poker, you’re looking to make the best possible five card hand. Your holdings can range from a high card up to a Royal Flush.
The platform fee for Poker Texas Holdem is only 10% of the winnings of a game.
A Regular game of Poker proceeds as follow:
A Small Blind and Big Blind are fixed amount for the table which are placed by two players to the left of the Dealer (D) respectively. These are mandatory bets.
Two cards (called the Hole cards) are then dealt to each player.
A round of betting takes place based on the Player’s cards where the bets can be called or raised by the Players. The Players can also drop out (fold) from the game. A round of betting begins, starting from the player to the left of big Blind (subsequently, the action moves by clockwise direction). Each Player has the following options:
Discard their 2 hole cards (The player will no longer be part of this hand after folding. The Player loses all rights to contend for the amount accumulated in the pot.
Contribute an amount equal to the amount posted by the Big blind.
Contribute an amount greater than the Big blind (Restrictions apply to the minimum amount player must put extra to raise. When a player chooses to raise, all the remaining players in the hand are required to at least match the raised amount to continue to be part of the hand except when a player does not have enough amount to match the raise amount. In this case, the player can put their entire table balance in the pot and go “All In” (explained in the following points).
After the completion of previous round of betting, 3 community cards are dealt (See the image below) on the table (These 3 cards are collectively called the Flop). A new round of betting
begins. All the player have an addition option to “CHECK” if they choose not to contribute any more money to the pot. This option is only available to you if all the players who played
before you in this round chose to “CHECK”. If any player decides to contribute to the pot, all “CHECKS” are made invalid and all the remaining players in the hand must at least match the
amount to be able to continue to participate in the hand.
This round of betting ends when all players who chose not to Fold or go “All In” match the highest individual contribution to the pot by a player.
(If all players except one folds, then the hand/ Game ends and all the money in the pot is awarded to the player left and post rake deduction. If 2 or more players remain in the hand
after the end of this round, the game moves to TURN.
After the completion of previous round of betting, 1 more community card is dealt (See the image below) on the table (This card is called the Turn). A new round of betting begins, with
the same rules that applied to the FLOP round of betting.
This round of betting ends when all players who chose not to Fold or go “All In” match the highest individual contribution to the pot by a player.
(If all players except one folds, then the hand/ Game ends and all the money in the pot is awarded to the player left and post rake deduction. If 2 or more players remain in the hand
after the end of this round, the game moves to RIVER.
After the completion of previous round of betting, 1 more community card is dealt (See the image below) on the table (This card is called the River and is the last card community card).
A final round of betting begins, with the same rules that applied to the FLOP or TURN round of betting. If 2 or more players remain in the hand after the end of this round, the players
move to Showdown.
Once the last bet has been called during the final round of betting, a showdown occurs. All remaining active players hands are declared, and the player(s) with the best ranking hand(s) win
the pot. In case of a tie for the winning hand, all players tied share the pot. Applicable rake (Platform fee) is deducted from the winnings.
All players hands are declared by the platform. Multiple players can share a pot, with the pot divided in different ways, depending on the game rules and how each players ranks against
their opponents.
Hand Strength in Texas Holdem Poker is determined by the following order (Best to Worst)
The strongest poker hand is the Royal Flush. It consists of Ten, Jack, Queen, King and an Ace of the same suit.
The second strongest poker hand is the Straight Flush. It consists of five consecutive cards of the same suit. If two or more players have straight flush, the one with the highest card
wins.
A Four of a kind is four cards of the same rank, e.g. Four Nines. If two players have four of a kind, the one with the highest four of a kind wins.
A Full House is a hand that contains three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank e.g. three Aces and two Threes. If two players have Full House, the one with the higher ranked three
cards wins.
Five cards of the same suit make a Flush. If two players have a Flush, the one with the highest card wins.
Five consecutive cards are called a Straight. If two players have a Straight, the one with the highest card wins.
Please note that A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest Straight.
A Three of a kind is a poker combination of three cards of the same rank. If two players or more have a Three of a Kind, the one with the higher ranked Three of a kind cards wins.
If players have same ranked Three of a kind, then the fourth and/or fifth (kickers) determine the winner. The player with the highest kicker card is the winner.
Two Pair is a poker combination that has two pairs. If two or more players have a Two Pair, the rank of the highest Pair determines the winner. If the higher pair is same, the rank
of the next pair is considered to determine the winner. If players have both pairs of the same rank, the fifth card (kicker) is considered to decide the winner. The player with the highest
kicker card is the winner.
A Pair is a poker combination that has one pair. If two or more players have a have Pair, the rank of the Pair determines the winner. If players have pair of the same rank, the third,
fourth and fifth card (kickers) is considered. The player with the highest kicker card is the winner.
Poker combination of five different rank cards is called High Card. If players have High card, the one with the highest rank wins. If the highest cards are same, the next highest cards
are compared and so on.
On your turn, you can carry out the following actions:
When a bet is matched and you do not wish to bet more, you can CHECK for the round to proceed. You can still bet later in the round.
When you do not want to play the round, you FOLD to forfeit that round and quit the game. You can join the next game.
When you want to increase the stakes by betting more, you RAISE the bet to your desired amount.
When the previous player raises or calls a previously raised bet, you CALL to stay in the round.
There are two types of timers available to players:
The player has this timer to play each turn.
The player has this timer, after the primary timer, to play each turn.
Both the timers are re-set at each turn and are currently set at 12 seconds, which may be changed
by the company without any notice.
The player must be at least 18 years of age to play.
Play in moderation and only for entertainment.
Do not play to make money or escape problems.
Do not chase your losses
while playing.
Set aside a budget to play and keep track of time.
